i love love l.o.v.e. all of this!
anyone else used to watch the hills? i totally got jimmy hooked on it a few years ago. seems to me it's time to re-watch that slow moving train wreck.

so good
our sweet little winnipegian is coming for a Toronto quickie this weekend and i can't lie - i'm a tad bit excited. please add roman to the list of people who hold a very special place in this heart of mine.
and although my current maternal state will hinder my ability to party in the way we usually do, i am sure there will be no shortage of fun because, well - you just have so much fun when this guy is around.
and if i could, i'd squeeze back into that wedding dress and party in a parking lot until 5am with all of these amazing people like i did 6 months ago.

we got spoiled
this weekend i was able to spend some time with my family and my mom and dad have really gone above and beyond for baby so far. these are just the outfits we were given this one weekend and we also scored a change table pad and the girls got their 1st birthday present, a second little bed so they can stop squeezing into one together.
the weekend also included a trip to see some besties and enjoy some much overdue liam time. looks like the babes are coming along nicely. growing the next generation of best friends right there.
always the best to be around real, genuine friends who actually know what it is to love someone. i'm finding out more and and more these days that those people are very few and seriously far between.
baby check up this AM and he is within all "normal" ranges and kicking up a storm. i'm pretty sure he's sucking his thumb in there too. mom and dad would call this the biggest karmic payback of all time! ;)

what do you do...
when you've dedicated an entire weekend to your husband, your pajamas and your couch? well - you relax. and then you get up, go get a snack and relax some more. get the duvet off of your bed, drag it over to the couch and then, yes - r.e.l.a.x.
oh, and then you also download a photo collage app on your iphone and instantly become addicted.
relive your wedding day.
make yourself that necklace hanger you have had on the 'want to do' list for about a month
stare amazed at 3 pictures that show how much you have ballooned over the course of 14, 16 & 18 weeks
make adorable collages of your kitty from baby to almost 1 year old - bernie
make adorable collages of your kitty from baby to almost 1 year old - betty
and then, make one of the two of them together being THE CUTEST EVER
and of course, put something together of the baby stuff you've done so far. the crib was delivered on saturday morning and it went together the easiest. it's SO crazy to think that in approx 8 months time, i'm going to be putting our little man in there to sleep. he is going to have so much more room in there than i do sharing a queen sized bed with his dad. the man is not really aware of 'space sharing'.
it's a....
boy!
pretty incredible weekend over here. it all began with finding out this little monster i've got in here is a baby boy. definitely a few happy tears shed and yet another incredible moment with jimmy. it all feels more real now somehow - but that could also be because baby has been kicking me non stop for three days!
love that guy.

my next purchase
i totally had this complete set given to me years and years ago by my mum for christmas. it was one of those gifts you unwrap and just beam for the rest of the day knowing you have it.
seeing as how i have a few months of couch bound evenings in my future - and my set has been separated/lost/scratched over the years - i think this would be a very wise purchase :)

love
it's pretty sweet. and what better way to show jimmy how much i love him than to make him heart shaped brownies for valentine's day?
pretty simple gesture but a pretty sweet payoff.
and let's be honest, it's not like i didn't have the most fun making or get a bite or two out of these little guys.
i love you jimmy!

weekend :)
i can't think of the last time i was able to spend an entire weekend:
a) not hanging over the toilet having baby induced weekend long sickness
b) crossing things off not the 'to do' list but the 'want to do' list
c) hanging out with my husband from friday night until monday morning
it was amazing. but whoa, WHOA. i am in fill on mommy mode. big time.
baby is baking along nicely. i am still in all of my pre-pregnancy pants but now have the help of elastic bands holding them closed. thank god for belly bands! we're at 18 weeks now with only 2 left to wait until we find out who we've got in there. bets are going either way for boy vs girl right now. james says boy but i am thinking girl. no idea why.
i was able to finally tackle some of the sewing mom and i started a few weeks ago. pinning and sewing a few bibs at a time - slow and steady. let's hope the baby doesn't mind crooked seams.
the collection of finished products is slowly growing, i am excited for the day when i have more sewn and complete than cut and pinned waiting to be finished. i am super happy about the care bears material though - how cute is that??
i found another really cute pattern on this blog on friday and on our trip out on sat picked up a few random pieces of material to give it a try. i have all of the table runners from the wedding left over which worked out perfectly for the backing of these cute little guys.
they are nowhere near as well done as the blog i found them on but since i am lacking in any kind of sweet measuring/cutting mat that my mom has, i did it all with a 'close enough' attitude. this set is for nina and i made a set for jimmy and i too. they are pretty imperfect but hey, that's ok with me!
i also got deep into the cooking this weekend, it was so so nice to not feel sick and be able to stomach everything. we definitely started sunday off right with a little recipe i think i stole off my nan. not too sure - but basically the easiest thing ever to make.
i dug up another old recipe and used up those sad looking frozen bananas we've had in the freezer for what seems like forever.
even though my oven is pretty unpredictable and usually really enjoys burning everything i try to bake, these turned out really well and the recipe was right on the nose with 20 mins at 375.
once i was able to break into the jar (nice sealing job ladies!) i was so happy i did - they smelled and looked incredible.
i was able to get 2 nice sized crumbles out of the jar and we devoured one last night and i popped the other in the freezer for another day. let's be honest, that day could be today.
and we weren't the only one's digging the weekend at home. the girls had a 48 hours snuggle fest and would not leave our sides. bernie always wants to be in the centre of everything while betty will watch from the comfort of their little bed. i think she napped for 7 hours yesterday. epic.
i think a second one of these little beds is in order for the girl's bday which is coming up in about 2 weeks. for now, i will get no end of enjoyment from seeing them both in there together. since when did my babies get so big??
hope you all had a great weekend too. we're topping it all off with a trip to the midwife to hear the babe's heartbeat tonight - i simply cannot think of anything i'd want to do more. xo

happy boy
the birthday festivities drew to a close last night when some of jimmer's besties and some of mine (and ours) came out and watched the Raptors lose with us! really, offering free pizza to everyone if they score over 100 points and then have to watch then score only 99? torment, pure torment.
however, this didn't take away from how fabulous the night was and the people who came out to share it with is made it really special. the hot dogs too, oh those hot dogs - they were pretty special themselves.
and sitting watching a game where you get to yell things out like "i wish i got paid millions of dollars to be bad at basketball!" elbow to elbow with some of your favourite people and make your husband the happiest? well, that's just a super big perk of turning 30. happy birthday my love!

looks who's 30!
we had a pretty special birthday around these parts yesterday as my lovely husband finally turned 30! these are the 4 glorious months of the year where we are the same age and i feel just a little bit less like a total coug.
so what do you get for the man who lives with very little (very happily) and every time you ask him what he wants he says things like "more sleep" or "to live stress free" ? these are attainable things yes but not really ones that can be wrapped and given as a bday gift. SO with an effort to force him to bed earlier and to help alleviate his often heavy mind (band stress, hello?!) i tried to think of what i could get for the man who gives me everything all of the time.
i came up with an idea on my walk home monday night and while Jimmy was off at band meeting #4,786 of this year, i set to work and brainstormed 5 possible presents. the idea was a choose your own birthday adventure. open all five envelopes and choose which ever present tickles you in just the right way.
turns out he chose option #1, my original birthday present idea: new shoes. these won over $100 clothes shopping spree, $100 at itunes or Starbucks, his next cell phone bill paid for (with the caveat that the saved $$ goes to something he wants not another bill) and a trip to Long & McQuade worth $100. so wednesday we head out to buy Jimmer whatever new shoes he wants. I predict 2 months of happiness before he claims they are falling apart. oh, how sweet those two months will be!
it occurred to me i was responsible to represent the whole of our little family so i gave a voice to the little sea monkey since he/she can't quite send a card yet. this had us both in tears. this baby has totally turned us into a couple of softies! it has also, i believe, made us be the closest we've ever been in four years. SEE what i mean about going soft?? geeze!

i took a half day off of work yesterday to spend the day with James after he got home from work and managed to sneak a bday cake and some bday beers into the fridge for him to enjoy last night. We ended up not going out for dinner as per the original plan but ordered in and ate in bed. hey, the man gets what the man wants on his birthday! i was definitely not opposed to lazy tuesday pj party.
tonight we're going to watch the Raptors dominate the Bucks in what can only be described as the Great Hot Dog Dinner Anticipation of 2012! well, that's what i'm referring to it as anyway. technically, it's a bday jam.
happy birthday to you jimmy - i love you and your stupid face! xoxox

jimmy
happy anniversary to my best friend, the love of my life and to put it in Maury friendly terms, my baby daddy.
4. Dinner
i cheated. this is the breakfast my dad made me last weekend. i keep forgetting to take a picture of dinner! it doesn't help that they are all inhaled faster than the speed of light.
being pregnant...
...is a lot like having a hangover.
seriously, you don't drink and you sleep whenever you can but i have usually (in the last month) felt exhausted, nauseous, light headed, sweaty, shaky and hungry for anything greasy.
fun times!
this weekend i was supposed to go to Lindsay for Henry's 3rd bday party but had to work sat & sun to launch a site today so i stayed in the city. Saturday i was totally ok, until i went to meet mum for lunch and the room started spinning. i jumped in a cab, *just* made it home in time and then proceeded to have a very up close and personal conversation with the toilet for the next 3 hours. not my finest moment.
when it all stopped i dropped into bed and my mum, god bless this woman, stayed with me until i was able to drag myself to the couch and eat something.
sunday was working and then couch time with the kitties. good thing they love to sleep because i have not been the best playtime partner as of late. but they love being lazy so we're all pretty happy to spend some time doing a whole lot of nothing.
tomorrow is jimmy's 30th! i am going to do something i haven't done in forever and actually make plans for a weeknight. wish me luck!
