i'm sick. again! what the heck guys. this office is a friggin daycare when it comes to germs and 4 people including myself tapped out at noon to go home and be gross and snotty in the comfort of our respective pjs and beds. oh but my bed had kittens in it which made me feel better right away.
so although last night my defense against whatever this is (i am guessing strep throat) was a serious double dose of generic NyQuil - i also made the monumental mistake of having 3 really large rum and ginger ales. what can i say? i was extremely bored. anyway, turns out that mixture makes you good and comatose for at least 12 hours and as a result i woke up after pretending to be a dead body all night.
in an effort to make up for my ridiculous choices of last night, i am double dosing on a spinach, strawberry, blueberry, coconut water and rice milk smoothie.
i feel better already.

i haven't blogged in so long and i think the reason is two fold. 1 - my laptop is in limbo somewhere between heaven and hell and won't do anything anymore. it hasn't quite expelled its death rattle yet but i can feel it coming. apparently jim knows a guy who can fix it for me so we'll see if this sweet little dell can be saved.
2 - not much has been going on. well not that i care to share anyway. we moved, and moving is a sea of unending dust, garbage and shuffling papers only to move them from one side of the kitchen to the other. then maybe you move that stack of papers to the living room because you think, well that's where they belong. then an hour later you move them again because they're in the way or the kittens knocked them onto the floor. so now they're on your bedside table but because of your proximity ocd you can't have any unorganized mess beside your bed. and your bed is where you hang out because the digital box in the living room crackles and you can't watch tv on the first flat screen you've ever owned because the fucking thing is goddamn crackling and why in the hell did we buy this and why haven't i called rogers yet to replace the stupid box? oh yeah because i am totally indifferent these days and have no energy for anything. so then you move the papers into the kitchen because that's where they should go right? yeah. the cycle is almost too much fun.
so there you have it. my computer is dead and my home bound activities are usually kept to the bedroom - except work (omg killlll meeee) and running. tonight i am taking all of the frustration, fatigue, confusion, anxiety and anger and using it to run the shit out of the track. i have never EVER been this pumped for a run.
until tomorrow my friends - or maybe, the next day.

it's done
and i am so happy it is. omg, i have been stressing over this half-marathon for MONTHS and yesterday i crossed the finish line after 2 hours and 18 minutes.

our first registry gift has arrived! my ever thoughtful sister and her lovely fiance bought jimmy and i our shower gift early as we just moved into our new house this past weekend and they thought we would like to have it sooner rather than later - how right they are!

bernie girl
at least i am convinced she's a girl. we aren't 100% on that just yet but hopefully the vet can tell us one way or another at our fist appointment on saturday. oh they have to get needles, that's the worst!!
so bernie is the little explorer.
she was the first one to climb up onto the bed and the first one to jump off of it. she love to sleep curled up beside her dad and also loves to lay on her back and have her belly rubbed.

our little one is the runt of the litter and is also a heart melter. she's got sweetness oozing out of her and loves to nap on top of people. here she is having a little siesta on her auntie lise.

we're slowly settling in which means boxes everywhere, 20 minute search for my shoes this morning and no internet hooked up just yet - hence the complete lack of updates from this end.
oh another thing i wanted to mention is the babies are here!!! betty & bernie (we're not 100% on bernie's sex right now so we're taking a uni-sex approach to her real name - bernice) are home with us and could not be more perfect. they're adventurous, adorable and so so cuddly. pretty much the epitome of everything you would want a kitten to be, they are times two.
